Mike Finnegan, Manager, Information
Technology

Mike Finnegan is the Manager of Information Technology for CONNSTEP. He creates and oversees IT strategy for the company, purchases all hardware and software, manages the operations of the server farm, controls the configuration and security of the client computers, regulates the network of roaming and office computers and develops the custom database and application programs for CONNSTEP's internal use.
Mike spent four years in the U.S. Army in Germany, and then joined the IT field working for local companies such as General Reinsurance in Stamford, Connecticut and Reader's Digest in Pleasantville, New York.
Mike later became a consultant working for various Fortune 500 companies as well as local companies and institutions such as IBM, Pfizer, McKinsey & Company, the University of Hartford and others in the New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Massachusetts region.
Mike joined CONNSTEP in 2001 and has over 25 years of experience in IT development, operations and management. He has programmed in low level languages such as PC and mainframe assembler and C; in 3rd generation languages such as COBOL and JCL; in 4th generation languages for mainframes too numerous to list; in high level languages such as VB, .NET, Java, JavaScript, HTML, XML; and SQL, procedures and transactions in various databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, DB2, and Lotus Notes.
Mike holds a B.S. degree in Secondary Education from Western Connecticut State University from which he graduated summa cum laude; he met the requirements while there for a B.A in Psychology, and has worked toward his PhD at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland.
