CONNSTEP Green Scorecard

The CONNSTEP Green Scorecard has six sections:

1.  Energy & Climate
2.  Material Efficiency
3.  Products & Services Design
4.  Supply Chain Engagement
5.  Transportation & Logistics
6.  Employee Involvement

Each section has a set of questions.  Please choose the rating, based on the following scale, that best reflects the extent to which you company has implemented sustainability efforts. 

0  ...  None to very little activity
1  ...  Under consideration
2  ...  To some extent
3  ...  To a great extent

Once you have finished the six sections, click submit and you will be contacted by a CONNSTEP staff member to review your efforts to date and identify opportunities to become a Green/Sustainable Leader.

*1.3 To what extent are electrical, mechanical and lighting fixtures chosen for energy efficiency?

*1.5 To what extent has your company conducted an energy audit in the last year?
*2.1 To what extent has your company developed a formal plan to identify, improve and/or redesign processes or procedures in order to maximize material efficiences and reduce waste?
*2.2 To what extent does your company require and/or promote recycling throughout the operation?
*2.3 To what extent does your company set goals and track the reduction of its waste?
*2.4 To what extent does your company evaluate maintenance performance and adjust preventative maintenance activities accordingly?
*2.5 To what extent has your company encouraged practices that reduce or eliminate paper usage?
*2.6 To what extent has your company substituted less toxic chemicals/materials to reduce pollution and employee exposure?
*2.7 To what extent does your company know what is being disposed of in the dumpsters on a regular basis?
*2.8 To what exent has your company reduced packaging wastes?
*2.9 To what extent is your company minimizing solid waste streams?
*2.10 To what extent has your company set water reduction goals or conservation efforts?
*3.1 To what extent does the product concept process consider sustainability acquired, renewable or recycled materials?
*3.2 To what extent is a minimum of packaging or recylcing of packaging considered in the design process?
*3.3 To what extent are products designed for disassembly to facilitate remanufacture or reuse of parts?
*3.4 To what extent are the product life cycles, cradle-to-cradle, considered in the design of all products?
*3.5 To what extent does your company involve suppliers in the design and engineering process to consider the acquisition of sustainable raw materials and vendor parts?
*4.1 To what extent has your company sought to work with customers, suppliers or vendors on ways to minimize waste and prevent pollution?
*4.2 To what extent does your company ask suppliers or vendors about their environmental performance?
*4.3 To what extent does your company give preference to suppliers who have demonstrated superior environmental performance?
*4.4 To what extent has your company worked with the supply chain to reduce greenhouse gas emissions?
*4.5 To what extent does your company evaluate the quality of production and capacity for production before beginning a business relationship with a supplier?
*5.1 To what extent does your company seek to minimize fuel use in the delivery of its products and/or services?
*5.2 To what extent does internal distribution seek to minimize the multiple handling and repackaging of product prior to shipment?
*5.3 To what extent does your company use returnable packaging?
*5.4 To what extent does your company look to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from employee commuting, e.g., telecommuting, four day work weeks and business travel, e.g., webinars and teleconferences?
*6.1 To what extent does your company have a formal written sustainability/green policy that commits it to continuous improvement and lessening its impact on the environment?
*6.2 To what extent are employees at all levels educated and trained regarding key syustainability efforts?
*6.3 To what extent does your company have an empowered Green Team?
*6.4 To what extent are employees, departments, managers evaluated on their contribution to green efforts?
*6.5 To what extent does management recognize and reward those leading and supporting the change to a sustainable/green business?
