Matin Karbassioon, Lean
Consultant
Matin Karbassioon is a Lean Consultant skilled in applying
Best Manufacturing Practices and leadership principles to
continuously improve productivity, quality and throughput. Matin
has
developed a number of training programs in Continuous
Improvement as well as Problem Solving Techniques.
Matin has provided consulting, training and facilitation services to small and medium size manufacturers in their pursuit of enterprise-wide excellence. He is certified by the Supplier Excellence Alliance (SEA) to deliver the Lean Enterprise System to suppliers of Aerospace and Defense OEMs to ensure American competitiveness.
Since joining CONNSTEP in 2005, Matin has successfully facilitated the transition of manufacturing companies form traditional to Lean. These organizations ranging from medical instruments to power distribution manufactures have become more profitable through enhanced quality, shorter lead-times and increased capacity.
Introduced to Lean early in his career, Matin was trained by the leaders of the Toyota Production System and collaborated on the deployment of Just-in-Time manufacturing at Danaher Corporation's first kaizen events. Later in his career, Matin successfully led and facilitated Enterprise-wide Lean initiatives in a variety of manufacturing companies in the Automotive, Energy Services and Defense industries.
In addition to his strong background in Lean, Matin has had
extensive managerial experience in the
manufacturing and engineering disciplines. Throughout his
twenty-five years of experience, Matin has held positions as an
Industrial Engineer, Project Engineer, Engineering Manager, and
Business Unit Manager.
In his last position prior to joining CONNSTEP, Matin directed the Operational Excellence initiative at Dresser Instruments where he successfully led and facilitated scores of improvement events at the Connecticut, European and Latin American operations. He trained and certified Continuous Improvement Champions and provided the technical support to ensure their success in implementing Lean throughout a number of facilities worldwide.
Matin earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of New Haven in Connecticut.
He is a NIST-MEP certified instructor.
