John McCarroll, Manager, Enterprise Services

John McCarroll joined CONNSTEP in 2004 and brings over 40 years of manufacturing expertise to his role as Manager of Enterprise Services. John's professional experience includes several general management roles, primarily in the aerospace industry. He began his career at Hamilton Sundstrand as a Manufacturing Research and Development Engineer where he designed and implemented one of the very first CAD/CAM systems in the nation. Later, he was given design and program management responsibilities for one of industry's first finite-scheduling systems used in a job shop environment. 

After transitioning to the Turbo Power and Marine Division of UTC, John was responsible for total supply-chain management and later moved on to run their gas-turbine assembly and test operations. Following an assignment in the President's Office at UTC, he joined Otis Elevator where he was initially responsible for global purchasing initiatives and later headed up marketing activities at their European headquarters in Paris. While remaining in Europe, he became General Manager of International Operations for the Building Systems Company and was the leader of joint efforts between Otis and Carrier to remotely monitor elevator and heating and cooling systems for their customers outside the States.

In 1990, John acquired Hi-Speed Machine Products, a manufacturer of small precision machine components for the aerospace industry. Hi-Speed was one of New England's first small shops to embrace the concepts of Lean Manufacturing through cellular design, one piece flow, SMED, etc. Hi-Speed was one of the founding members of CT's Aerospace Components Manufacturer's group and John served on its board in its formative years.

A graduate of the University of Michigan, John earned a Bachelors Degree of Science and a Masters Degree of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He is the author of "Computerized Part Programming for Numerical Control", and is an avid golfer and Pinot Noir wine enthusiast.
